VR GAME DEVELOPMENT
Applied my 3D modeling, rigging and animating skills to create a VR game with Unity. Learned how to use particle systems, program in C#, light baking techniques, and deploy builds to the Oculus Rift/Go. Based off Unity's "Lost" demo.
3D Modeling the Robot
Using knowledge gained from my internship at VirBELA to model a low-poly yet intricate model of the Iron Giant.
Rigging the Robot
Proved to be the most difficult yet rewarding part of this project. Learned to use bone constraints, helpers, and deformation tools to fully animate a 3D character.
Creating a Unity scene
Learned to use particle systems, wind effects, the fog system, terrain/displacement maps, import materials, and the fundamental Unity UI.
Animating the Robot + Scene
Key framing the robot's movements, lights, and wind effects.
Learned to use animation weights, transitions, event calling, and states.
Creating background sounds and effects that matched the experience.
Dealing with Virtual Reality SDKs, Oculus Integration Package, XR Plugin Management, and Oculus Touch Controllers.
